Easter Holidays: Mon 3rd - Tues 4th April 2023
Rock 2 the Beat at Wildern!
Open to all existing Rock 2 the Beat pupils and all new pupils - no experience necessary!
Learn!
Spend two days with our specialist instrumental tutor team, learning new techniques and skills, and all about your instrument
Perform!
Learn, memorise and perform a song as part of a band, on stage with a live audience, and
record a song in a studio setting
Have fun!
Make new friends, enjoy learning, playing and performing music, and even listen to our tutor band performances

Calling all new Rockstars!
On Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th April, Hampshire Music Service are providing an exciting opportunity to get involved in learning a new instrument and the opportunity to play in a Rock/Pop band with our “Rock 2 the Beat” provision.
How will it work?
Children in school years 4, 5 and 6 will have the opportunity to learn either Vocals, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard or Drums and be taught by our specialist Rock 2 the Beat tutor team. Over the two days, they will learn to play their instruments and learn a song within a band and ensemble environment, making new friends along the way, all ending in a concert performance to show off what they've achieved!
On Day 1, you will explore your instrument for the first time, learning the fundamental techniques within small group sessions and lessons and working alongside our instrumental tutors. On Day 2, all the children will come together as an ensemble in full band sessions where rehearsals will focus on working together, musicianship and discipline. During this time, they will also record their song together for a keepsake of the occasion. We will then bring the 2 days to an end with a concert performance where you’ll be able to show off your new found musical skills!
What do I need?
Nothing - other than a packed lunch, snacks and drink! We'll provide the instruments, teaching resources and endless amounts of fun!
Where is it?
The Easter course is at Wildern School, Wildern Lane, Hedge End, SO30 3EJ. Instructions on where to meet will be emailed nearer the time.
When is it?
Monday 3rd April - 09:00 Arrival - 15:00 Pick up
Tuesday 4th April - 09:00 Arrival - Parent concert at 15:30 (estimated finish at 16:15)
How much does it cost?
The cost for the two days for each participant is £70.

Come and join the holiday fun!
On Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th April, Hampshire Music Service are providing an exciting opportunity to get involved in meeting and making friends with other Rock 2 the Beat members from all around Hampshire! Come and join us for two days of fun where you'll join another band and learn some completely new songs - with our extended specialist Rock 2 the Beat tutor team.
How will it work?
Children currently taking part in our Rock 2 the Beat provision in primary schools (Year 4, 5 and 6) will come together on their instruments in new bands just for the holidays. Over the two days, they will learn a new song within their band and ensemble environment, making new friends along the way, all ending in a concert performance to show off what they've achieved!
On Day 1, you will spend time with our instrumental tutors who will guide you through the new material, learning any new fundamental techniques within the sessions On Day 2, rehearsals will focus on working together, musicianship and discipline whilst practising for the final performance.
